What is your LinkedIn engagement rate?
Enter the numbers from your LinkedIn analytics. Takes about a minute.
- Your rate, four ways. Per impression, per person reached, per follower, and the way LinkedIn's own dashboard counts it. Each answers a different question.
- Judged against your own size. Rate falls about 5x from the smallest accounts to the largest, so one platform average fits nobody.
- No number where there is no data. Below 1,000 followers we say so instead of inventing a benchmark.
Optional. Members reached is on your post's analytics page. Adding it fills the greyed per-reach row below.
How LinkedIn engagement rate is calculated
Engagement rate is reactions plus comments plus reposts, divided by impressions, times 100. An impression counts once a post is at least 50 percent on screen for 300 milliseconds, per LinkedIn's own metric definitions. Published benchmarks are built on this formula, so it is the number to use when comparing against them.
What counts as engagement depends on where you read it. Company Page analytics adds clicks to the numerator, which pushes the figure above any published benchmark, and personal post analytics shows members reached, a unique-person count that answers a different question. The calculator works each variant out separately instead of blending them.
